The proposál is funded in the following ways: savings realized by changing the healthcare provider while maintaining the highest level of benetits, and ending the practice of paying teachers extra pay for teaching an additional period during the defined work day, and ending the practice of paying teachers extra pay for covering a class due to teacher absences during their defined work day 3 A teacher hired prior to August 31st, 2018 on step 13 with a salary of $56,075 will move to step 14 in 2020-2021 with a salary of $57,352, retroactive to September 2020, step 15 in 2021-2022 with a salary of $59,148 and step 16 in 2022-2023 with a salary of $79,776. A 3 year salary increase of $23,701 moving from step 13 to step 16. A teacher hired after August 31st, 2018 on step 2 with a salary of $40,070 will remain at step 2 in 2020-2021, move to step 3 in 2021-2022 with a salary of $41,520 and step 4 in 2022-2023 with a salary of $45,579. A 3 year salary increase of S5,509 moving from step 2 to step 4. A teacher on top step prior to August 31st, 2018 will receive a $500 bonus for 2020-2021, retroactive to September 2020, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. A 3 year total bonus of $1,500. The proposal includes partial retro activity, step movement and a benefit package equal to or better than that which is currently offered.
